The Bruce field, located approximately 380 kilometres northeast of Aberdeen, is one of the largest gas/condensate fields in production in the UK North Sea. Image courtesy: Jondal on Flickr
The Bruce development consists of three platforms. A production / utilities / quarters (PUQ) platform, a drilling platform from which most of the development wells are drilled and a compression/reception (CR) platform. The Western Area of the field was developed using subsea wells tied back to the CR platform via a pipeline.
Gas is exported from the process, utilities and quarters platform via the Frigg pipeline system, landing at the St Fergus Terminal, operated by Total. Liquids are exported via a 245-kilometre Bruce-owned pipeline to the BP-operated Forties Pipeline system and on to the BP Kinneil Terminal. — BHP Billiton
